LevelTen Energy, an operator of global energy markets and asset sales, has launched LevelTen MarketPulse, a cloud-based software that provides access to real-time data and analytics on renewable energy projects based on actual market activity in North America and Europe.

MarketPulse enables clean energy developers, buyers and investors to analyze the market and inform purchasing decisions, leveraging PPAs and renewable project data from an industrial hub for clean energy transactions .

Traditionally, there have been barriers to obtaining PPA prices: price quotes are usually shared directly between buyers and sellers, and often during bidding processes lasting several weeks which can lead to outdated prices at the when they are finished. LevelTen tries to create a centralized marketplace for clean energy buyers, sellers, investors, and analysts to get the data needed for benchmarking, modeling, and analysis.

“MarketPulse extends LevelTen’s platform and provides greater transparency in the PPA market. MarketPulse enables energy sellers to price their PPAs more efficiently, buyers to quickly compare and compare price offers, and investors to conduct thorough due diligence and inform financial models,” said Prasun. Chaudhury, director of data solutions at LevelTen Energy. “Instant access to new data is even more critical in today’s volatile energy market, which has evolved rapidly over the past two years.”

Since last year, renewable PPA price offers have increased by approximately 30% in North America and 47% in Europe.

LevelTen MarketPulse is powered by anonymized data from LevelTen Energy Marketplace, an online PPA marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. Over 90% of renewable energy developers in North America and over 60% of developers in Europe use LevelTen Energy Marketplace.

MarketPulse includes tools for analyzing and visualizing market trends. PPA data can be filtered by price data searches based on geography, development maturity, and other attributes. The software also displays historical PPA price trends and projected settlement values.

Graphs and maps illustrate the location of projects and the concentration of demand. MarketPulse subscribers can also download the underlying data to connect to their financial models.

“We built LevelTen MarketPulse with input from renewable energy professionals who wanted a tool that would help them build better models and save time on market analysis,” Chaudhury said. “We believe we’ve created one of the most advanced PPA data tools on the market, and we’re excited to continue expanding its functionality in the months ahead.”
